Great Grandfather Conrad Wong

Nate has a Great Grandfather who is 86 years old!  Conrad Wong is what his friends call him.  The main objective of our visit to Toronto this January was for him to meet his Great Grandfather.  It looked like they had a great conversation when Nate was being strolled around.  Nate didn't cry a peep and he was a great napper during the visit.  Only one poop diaper and one feeding during the visit.  These pictures of Nate and his Great Grandfather will be cherished forever since so many generation gaps were tied together through this one face to face meeting.

Nate's Winter Wonderland 100th day Celebration!

Nate had his first flight and it was to his mom and dad's hometown Toronto.  It was definitely bitter cold when we landed but expected being in January and all.  Main reason for our Toronto visit was for Nate to see his Great Grandfather who is 86!  His Great Grandfather enjoyed meeting Nate and contemplated for quite a bit on whether he looked like mommy or daddy.  The 100 Day Celebration was a big party for Nathan and lots of friends and family came to meet little Nate and hold him.  Thanks to Uncle Ho we have lots of pics that document the evening.

Meaning of Cousin

Nate is one of the luckiest little boys around because he has awesome cousins.  Now, in Chinese culture cousins are often referred to as extended brothers and sisters and there is lots of complication around between whether it is your father's sister's daughter or son...on and on and on.  It can get pretty complicated quickly but when you dumb it down the meaning of family is defined but what you make it and Nate is lucky to have two older girl cousins that do nothing but cater to Nate's every wish (good thing or bad thing not sure yet!).

In Chinese Uncle on Mom's side is Kau Fu....

Nate's Uncle Justin was in town with his girlfriend Cami.  Justin grew up with Nate's mom in Toronto until his early teens but now as a grown up with a bright future ahead of him hopefully he can move to California to join his big sis and nephew Nate!  Nate's Uncle hasn't been to San Francisco in over 20 years so let's just say this city adventure for Justin and Cami were overdue.  Lots of good Chinese food was enjoyed during the visit and it was a great way to start the Chinese New Year!

The beginning while Nate was super well behaved.

Uncle Justin says to Nate, "toys, do you like toys?"

Uncle Justin says to Nate's Mom, "what do you do when he blows a big toot?"

Baby Nate mellowing out before the big poop diaper change.

Uncle Justin NEVER did laundry when growing up with Nate's Mom but here he is!

Uncle Justin constantly saying to Nate, "Go Giants, Go Giants!"

Nate enjoyed Chinese New Year this year in San Francisco with the start of lots of good luck!

We are family....

Robert and I have enjoyed calling ourselves a family since Nathan's arrival.  Since we had maternity photos done only natural to get baby photos taken.  Darrell our photographer did a great job capturing us in our home and in our San Francisco neighborhood.  We cannot believe Nathan is already 10 weeks old and we look back at his earlier photos and see such changes in his development.  Consensus so far is he looks like mommy :)

Grandpa Visit

Grandpa Lam loves Nathan so much he couldn't resist from visiting again.  Last time Grandpa visited was when Nathan was only a few days old.  After a few web cam sessions since his last visit Grandpa still cannot believe how fast his grandson is growing.  A few pictures of the fun times Grandpa and Grandson had together!

Nate's San Francisco 100 Day Celebration

Robert and I want Nathan to understand and learn about Chinese traditions so as a first step we decided to hold a 100 Day Celebration in San Francisco (second one will be held in Toronto).  The San Francisco 100 Day Celebration was with Nathan's Grandpa Lam's cousins.  The dinner at R&G Lounge was extra delicious and Nathan got to see all his Aunt's and Uncle's at once.  Hopefully Nathan will see how much we wanted to celebrate his arrival!
