How much fun that Nathan turns One!

Nathan has been growing at rapid speed and learning new things over night!  Not sure how he does it but one day he's crawling and one day he's standing while clinging onto me.  Next minute I see him coasting across the family room furniture.  Every minute I spend with him while at home it keeps revealing how precious life is.  November 4th a year ago was the start of a new beginning for Robert and I and we wish we could live it over and over again.  A few pictures of Nathan creeping up to being 1 years old!

Nathan constantly curious and always looking for mommy...

Who is that cute guy in the mirror who looks like Sheldon from Big Bang Theory?

He's so cute I'm gonna kiss him!

Nathan getting ready for University but maybe we should get him a Stanford onesie as well :)

Mommy and Daddy giving Nathan a really bad hair cut during bath time and the result is...

Mr. Disaster

San Francisco Birthday Party...part 2 in Toronto in a week.

Nathan's girlfriend Gracie...she's a bit older but too cute to resist.

The cake.  Susie Cakes we loved it!

Auntie Janet technically was in labor at Nathan's party...she went to Macy's after the party and she was still in labor!  We hope she's okay.

Lots of wishes for the upcoming year...a Disney cruise trip for the second birthday maybe?!

Mommy and Daddy's man chair birthday gift for Nathan...Disney Junior shows are going to be so much better from this chair!  Sarah making sure Nathan doesn't fall off the chair.

All the fabulous gifts from all the great Aunties and Uncles.  Thank you so much!  Time to play!

Nathan's second birthday hopefully won't come around too quick :(

Crawling baby makes a tired Mommy...

It is a funny thing a baby's development.  I swear Nathan just turns it on whenever he feels like it.  One day he just sucks his thumbs and then one day he starts crawling!

For awhile Nathan was sitting and rocking on the spot.  He really wanted to crawl I could tell but he just wasn't ready.  One day 'ba da boom ba da bing' he is crawling!!!  Nathan decided to test two types of crawls.  First attempt was what daddy calls the booty scootch and then the second attempt was the good old traditional all fours.  Thankfully Nathan chose the traditional all fours as the ongoing crawl of his choice.  The booty scootch with the one leg being dragged just looks strange to me.  Now Nathan targets all the electrical outlets, cords and dangerous areas of the home.

Lately Nathan has been standing quite a bit.  He likes to use mommy or daddy as his standing support tools.  Sometimes he doesn't mind propping himself up using our neck or face.  Hopefully the walking will be not until much much later.  Who knows since Nathan might just turn it on one day!

We love watching Nathan develop but we unfortunately get sad at each milestone since he is growing so quickly.  If anyone knows how to slow all of this down please let me know!

Bye everyone! Until next time....back to my toy!

Happiest Place on Earth

As a last minute fun family vacation we chose Disneyland and SoCal as a good spot for us.

Robert's side of the family joined us which was great fun - Anna (Robert's sister), Yogi (Anna's husband) and the girls Alexia and Kayla.  We stayed at a Sheraton near Disneyland and got connecting rooms.  Worked out fabulously!  We would put Nate down for bed and we would hang out in the other room. Every day was spent having some type of fun - Disneyland, Santa Monica, Dim sum in San Gabriel, Hermosa Beach, California Adventure and pure relaxation throughout.  Dipping in the hotel pool was a treat and we had great feasts day after day.  Kayla and I enjoyed the sushi (scallop and lobster rolls was to die for!) and the thai food the best.

A few highlight pics below!

Next family vacation we're thinking Boston....

Highchair giggles

Nathan is almost 10 months and he is starting to get into everything so mommy needs to always keep him in a highchair, bumbo or the Jumperoo.  Nathan hangs out with mommy in the kitchen quite a bit while laundry is being done, lunch or dinner is prepped or baby food is being made.  A few pictures of Nate having a good time in the highchair!

What does a baby do all day?

When I was working (or some would call me a workaholic) I never understood what a stay at home mom did all day.  I used to think to myself how strange it would be if I had a baby and took a year off for maternity leave (what you get in Canada!) and just do nothing.  Now staying home with Nathan I totally laugh at how I used to think of how stay at home mom's do absolutely nothing!

The days go by quickly and Nathan is a day away from being 9 months.  Nathan and I like to play every day and go for walks but we manage to do some fun things together.  As a mommy my goal is to find adventures for Nathan and I to explore!   Below are a few activities we have done together thus far.

Local Richmond Recreation Center has a fantastic Tot Play Gym Play time twice a week.  The gym is usually filled with over 25+ kids!  Nate always has a good time watching all the other big boys and girls.

myGym is a great facility that cousin Jason and Daniel Szeto recommended to Nathan and I.  Nathan got to swing on the trapeze, swing and play with a lot of balls!

Nathan and I wouldn't be able to do all these activities without going out for a bite to eat.  We enjoyed ramen together and he sat across from me surprisingly letting me enjoy my lunch!

Gymboree of course was part of the mix and Nathan stared at the teacher because her singing voice was so different!

Nathan attended his first birthday party and did well playing with others.

Our local library has a great Baby Rhyme time every Wednesday and there is always TONS of babies!

The best activity thus far is swimming lessons at La Petite Baleen near Crissy Fields.  Nathan loves the water!

All the activities typically pooped Nathan out...

But at the end of the day Nathan and I have typically have a great time at home.  We play and I make sure there are plenty of giggles!

Until the next blog post!  Nathan sends kisses and hugs to everyone!
